OUR ESSENTIA COLLECTION INSPIRATION

AUDREY HEPBURN, BRIGITTE BARDOT AND CYD CHARISSE were the inspiration for the first Supple drop. All three women were highly influential actresses who became symbols of beauty and style in the 1950s and 1960s. They were major stars in Hollywood and European cinema during this period. These women represented different aspects of femininity—grace, sensuality, and strength. They had a lasting impact on how women were portrayed in the media, breaking stereotypes and offering new ways to view women in film, fashion, and culture.

Firstly- what many people are not familiar with is that they were all dancers.

  • Cyd was a professional ballet dancer and used her ballet technique to become one of the most graceful dancers in Hollywood musicals. She was known for her long, elegant legs and fluid movements, which were a direct result of her ballet training.
  • Audrey also had ballet training and while it was not her main focus, it gave her a lot of grace. It also helped her with movement on the screen. Although not her primary profession, ballet certainly contributed to her iconic, graceful image.
  • Brigitte did not have formal ballet training, but she was a very skilled dancer in other styles, including classical dance and jazz. She is often remembered for her sensual and carefree movements.

All three of them were beauty and style icons.

Each woman became a muse for fashion and style, influencing trends in both their respective countries and worldwide. Hepburn's sophisticated and minimalist style, Bardot's sensual, carefree look, and Charisse's elegant yet athletic presence left lasting marks on fashion.

  • Audrey Hepburn: Known for her simple, chic outfits—especially the little black dress and her iconic pixie cut—she was often considered the epitome of elegance.
  • Brigitte Bardot: Her distinctive look with her blonde hair, pouty lips, and feminine yet rebellious style inspired countless fashion trends and beauty standards, especially in the 1960s.
  • Cyd Charisse: Charisse was often seen in glamorous, high-fashion costumes, blending strength with grace in her movements, which gave her a distinctive, athletic but glamorous persona.

As Supple is an activewear brand inspired by ballet and fashion - Audrey, Briggite and Cyd are the right people to honor them with our first drop.

And who do you think we have in our minds for our second drop?
